Do I have to run toolbox talks?
What WHS laws require is that you consult your workers on health and safety. Safe Work Australia lists toolbox talks as one way to do that. Its Code of Practice for construction work says it is best practice to keep a record of the topic, who attended and any feedback. Some builders also write them into their rules for subcontractors.
Consulting means giving workers a real say, so each talk ends with questions for the crew.
